RisQuant Energy today announced the extension of coverage for Power Nominals into a fifth ISO, ERCOT. Coverage for the Houston and North Congestion Management Zones was initiated, while coverage of West and South was deferred to the future. RisQuant also announced that PJM's PSEG Zone had been added in response to a specific request.

James Carson, CEO & Principal of RisQuant Energy, commented that the Texas market was new for RisQuant. "The market differences with the rest of the US are definitely challenging, but we discovered that ERCOT markets fit very well into our view of how power markets function. The North and Houston CMZs are well behaved, but the chaotic prices and tremendous congestion problems between West and South require a bit more study." He further indicated that RisQuant had initiated coverage in response to customer interest in Power Nominals for ERCOT.
