RisQuant Energy today announced the addition of two markets to Power Nominals coverage, MEC and WUMS. MEC is the Midwest ISO node that serves as the interface to the MidAmerican system in central Iowa. WUMS is a region covering northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Weston-3 generator in Wausau, designated by Midwest ISO as WPS.WESTON3 on the WPS system was selected to represent this area.
James Carson, Principal & CEO of RisQuant Energy, said that the additions were specifically in response to customer requests. He added that coverage of 'obscure' markets is central to their mission to bring price discovery and transparency to the power markets and that they would be adding many more in coming months.
