Can the software behind Power Nominals be licensed?
RisQuant Energy has encapsulated its methods into dependable software modules that model power markets. These modules can be tailored to your situation. They can be readily integrated into internally developed systems, or into systems purchased from an ETRM vendor. Currently, we limit our support to Excel based systems, but can extend that to any system with some effort.
Why license? Analysts can ask and answer a wide variety of questions to explore opportunities and their attendant risks. They can perform sophisticated senstitivity analysis, stress tests and examine other 'what if' scenarios. Financial control and reporting systems can evolve to incorporate our advanced insight into power market dynamics. This can help your organization achieve 'best practices' risk control standards. Analysts can focus their entire effort on solving immediate problems, rather than performing dubious 'research'.
Can Power Nominals be licensed as an OEM component? Yes. Please remember that ongoing model maintenance is required.
Can Power Nominals be adapted to a specialized requirement? Yes. For example, we can build and support modules for specific LMPs. If the location is of regional interest, we are willing to deepen our coverage. Alternatively, we can keep the analysis proprietary. Furthermore, we can customize modules very specifically. For example, we can model market driven values for a particular generator with specific operating characteristics.
What would RisQuant deliver?
- Excel XLL module implementing pricing models as a set of Excel functions.
- Similar DLL module that can be integrated into non-Excel systems.
- Documentation and examples to support implementations.
- Ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
What about model maintenance? RisQuant continually monitors models for drift and periodically deliver fresh models. We anticipate bimonthly. Installation of the revisions is very simple. RisQuant would also generate and deliver efficacy reports. |
